WalkytalkyG(adget) ft: Celebrating 1 year with N97mini

One year ago, John roby got his N97mini as an upgrade to his Nokia 5230. This phone truly fulfill his social purposes and multimedia experience.

Lets count first the positive feed back:

• The Design, - the form factor phone is very attractive plus the metallic materials and color. very eye catching.

• The User interface, - powered by Symbian, the user interface is known of being user friendly. The owner will easily adopt the upgrade and some changes from old to S60 version.

• The Messaging, - allowing to send multiple messages and making groups is very useful to John who is very addictive texter.

• The application and Ovi store, - many application to download and use. Flexible.

• The T.v out, - connecting the phone to t.v using t.v out cable is useful , by this browsing your multimedia and net on the wider screen even watching movies is a great plus factor.

• The Nokia Service, - having problem with his phone nokia service is very attentive and hospitable to their costumers. John truly like the service .

• The Durability, - john also dropped his phone not once but 6 times on a concrete surface still works well.

Then lets move to his negative feed back:

• The battery life, - john, receives messages on a minimum of 300 sms daily and connected to their wifi,always when at home . Charge his phone twice a day.

• The Lags and stack ups, - his phone lags and stops due to the incoming sms floods. Sometimes, it lags while browsing and gaming. For him to come up on backing up his phone and do the resets.

• The screen, - viewing the screen out door is difficult knowing philippines is a sunny country. And john hopes that nokia put the nhd screen to n97mini like on the lower end 5230.

So far, he use the n97mini regularly than his motorola droid in terms of messaging and camera. and looking forward for another years to fulfill his need as his massaging phone, actually he planned of selling this but he figured out that many memories reigns in . No farewell party yet!

WalkytalkyG(adget) HOT STUFF Ft: Sprints’ Kyocera Echo

Okay, this days , there are so many Smartphone appearing from different manufacturer. Battling for stardom. But being a hot stuff to catch the eye of the crowd is difficult.

This first Hot stuff of the week, The Sprints’s Kyocera Echo is a dual screen android smartphone. Both screen size are 3.5 480x800 means when you turn this laptop style when you slide it the size sums up to 4.7 960x800.

Each screen can be use in different way, like browsing mail and opening it to the other screen or spending time on facebook whole viewing photos to the other one. But kyocera having a hard time customizing the system in supporting most the application or the third party application. Still in development.

Lets talk about the battery consumption, knowing running 2 screens will drain the battery faster. that’s why they include external battery.

some specs still not shown but here’s some I know;

•1ghz snapdragon processor •5 mp with flash no front facing camera. •3g

Very interesting form factor, live the way it can fold and use 1 screen I better chose this form factor rather than tablet that so much big .looking forward to this form factor in future.

WalkyTalkyG(andget) ft: LG Optimus 2x Versus Sony ericsson Xperia x12.

During CES2011, there are also 2 great phones emerge aside the from ces2011 smartphone winner the Atrix 4G BY motorola. The lg optimus 2x , who first claim the first dual core smartphone and the sony ericsson xperia x12 which is the most sexy smartphone recently.

Design, In this case, sony ericsson deserve the spot of making smartphone to look unique and having sexy figure of being thinner than iphone with a curve .that’s why it was given a name arc while the optimus 2x is being humble with its simple design.

Power, In this aspect, optimus 2x won the spot having nvidia tegra 2, 1ghz dual core. While the xperia x12 features the 2nd gen qualcomm 1ghz processor, the scorpion plus a graphic accelerator.

Screen, The x12 got the spot having Led display and bravia engine while the lg got a standard lcd .don’t know why they didn’t put their latest screen that they did on the optimus black.
4inch-optimus 2x 4.2inch - xperia x12

Camera, Optimus 2x- having the 2 beating heart , it supports full HD experience of 1080p. Featuring 8mp camera and 1.3mp front facing camera.

Xperia x12- 8mp camera , 720p . Without front facing camera.

User Interface, Both phones are powered by Android operating system 2.2 at the moment and will be updated to gingerbread. But the UI differentiate each other. Timescape UI for xperia x12 plus Mediascape gives a great social and media experience compare to Optimus UI , who appeared to look like the touch wiz UI in galaxy but I doesn’t slow down the phone unlike the Timescape. In this case the x12 need a higher cpu using Timescape UI.

All in all, it shows how the CPU is very important in user experience and in future application or games. The higher the hardware specs the Greater it is to support the future changes and innovation. concluding that the optimus take the lead in terms of the hardware. Thanks to the dual core cpu but if the arc also using this core, surely it will take the spot for being great in softwares and hardwares. Looking forward to both phones. Goodluck.
